Dubai Strengthens Its Position as a Premier Global Cruise Hub with the Launch of Resorts World One
Dubai is set to welcome a new cruise operator to its shores, with Resorts World Cruises launching the Resorts World One on November 1, 2024. The luxury cruise liner will homeport at DP World’s Mina Port Rashid and offer a range of itineraries designed to boost inbound and outbound cruise travel across the Gulf region.
Passengers will be able to choose from three exciting weekly departures. The options include the 2-Night Sir Bani Yas Weekend Cruise departing on Fridays, the 3-Night Oman (Khasab-Muscat) Cruise leaving on Sundays, and the 2-Night Doha Cruise setting sail on Wednesdays. Travelers looking for a longer voyage can also combine these itineraries into 4, 5, or 7-night cruises, offering more flexibility and adventure.
Resorts World One will also be the first ship to receive the OIC/SMIIC Standard Halal-Friendly Cruise Ship certification, ensuring it caters to Muslim passengers with certified halal food options. Vegetarian and Jain cuisine will also be available, and onboard public announcements will be made in both English and Arabic to enhance the cruise experience for all guests.
Michael Goh, President of Resorts World Cruises, expressed his excitement about the launch. “These are exciting times for Resorts World Cruises as we inch closer to the start of our first sailing from Dubai to the Gulf with the Resorts World One. The response from the Gulf and Asia has been very encouraging, and we look forward to welcoming guests aboard soon.”
The deployment of Resorts World One in the Gulf is seen as a strategic move to enhance Dubai’s reputation as a premier cruise destination. Saud Mohammed Saeed Hareb, Cruise Tourism & Yachting Lead at Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, emphasized the significance of this partnership in aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33. “Cruise tourism plays a pivotal role in the growth of Dubai’s tourism industry, and this partnership with Resorts World Cruises underscores our commitment to offering diverse cruise experiences. We look forward to welcoming passengers and providing them with an unforgettable experience.”
The Resorts World Cruises brand is an extension of the globally recognized Resorts World group, which operates more than 30 properties worldwide across Asia, Europe, North America, and Africa. With an annual visitation of around 40 million people, the brand’s entry into the Gulf is expected to draw even more international attention to Dubai’s growing cruise industry.
As Dubai continues to position itself as the cruise hub of the region, the launch of Resorts World One marks a new chapter in the city’s thriving tourism sector, offering travelers from the Gulf and beyond a world-class cruise experience.
