The emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) has claimed the prestigious number one spot in the Expat Essentials Index by InterNations, the world’s largest expatriate network, as part of their 2024 Expat Insider report. This accolade positions RAK as a global leader in creating a seamless, vibrant, and accommodating environment for expatriates.

The Expat Essentials Index evaluates cities across four key categories:

In a survey spanning 53 cities worldwide, Ras Al Khaimah emerged as a beacon of excellence. An impressive 72% of expats in the emirate reported finding housing easily, compared to just 45% globally. Moreover, 69% of respondents felt there were minimal concerns about local bureaucracy or language barriers when relocating, a stark contrast to the global average of 29%.

Beyond the top rank in the Expat Essentials Index, RAK achieved second place globally in the Working Abroad Index and fifth for ease of settling in. This underscores the emirate’s commitment to fostering not just economic growth but also a sense of belonging among its diverse community.
