UAEV’s introduction of new charging tariffs, a dedicated mobile app, and 24/7 support aims to streamline the EV experience as part of the nation’s commitment to sustainability.
UAE: New Charging Fees for Electric Vehicles to Start from January 2025
Starting January 2025, electric vehicle (EV) owners in the UAE will experience a change in how they charge their cars, as new standardised fees for electric vehicle charging will be implemented. The move is part of the UAE’s broader strategy to drive a greener, more sustainable future and support the nation’s commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050.
Alongside the new charging tariffs, UAEV, the country’s leading electric vehicle service provider, is introducing an innovative mobile application designed to enhance the overall EV driving experience. The UAEV app will offer useful features, including real-time updates on the status of charging stations, a locator to easily find the nearest charging point, and a streamlined payment system for quick, hassle-free transactions.
“We are excited to launch these new features as part of our continued effort to enhance the electric vehicle experience for our users,” said Sharif Al Olama, Chairman of UAEV. “The introduction of charging tariffs and our dedicated mobile app is in line with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy, as we aim to provide efficient and eco-friendly solutions for the growing number of electric vehicle owners in the country.”
In addition to the app, UAEV is also establishing a 24/7 call centre to offer instant support and assistance to EV users. The call centre will ensure seamless experiences for drivers, helping them navigate the charging network and resolve any issues that may arise.
The company has ambitious plans for the future, aiming to expand its network to 1,000 charging stations across urban hubs, highways, and transit points by 2030. The strategic expansion will ensure that EV users have access to charging stations throughout the UAE, supporting both inter-city and intra-city travel.
With these developments, UAEV is solidifying its role in the UAE’s vision for a sustainable future, making it easier for residents to adopt electric vehicles and contribute to the country’s environmental goals.
