New partnership offers seamless connectivity and greater convenience for travelers between the UAE, Malaysia, and beyond, with a single booking and through-checked baggage across both airlines’ networks.
Dubai-based flydubai and Malaysian carrier Batik Air have announced an exciting new interline agreement, designed to enhance connectivity and travel convenience for passengers between the UAE, Malaysia, and over 40 additional destinations. The partnership, which leverages both airlines’ growing networks, will allow travelers to book single tickets and check their baggage through to their final destination, easing travel to a range of global cities.
The interline agreement will enable flydubai passengers to access more than 40 destinations across Southeast Asia via Batik Air’s hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL). This includes popular locations such as Hanoi, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Osaka, and Sydney. In turn, Batik Air passengers will gain access to 38 destinations across flydubai’s expansive network, which spans Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Europe, the GCC, and the Middle East.
Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith emphasized the significance of the new partnership, stating, “We are pleased to add Batik Air to our growing list of partners, offering their passengers a smooth travel experience on a young and modern fleet, with our great service and enhanced cabin interior. We look forward to offering our passengers more opportunities to explore Southeast Asia and beyond, further supporting Dubai’s position as a thriving aviation hub.”
Batik Air CEO, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, echoed this sentiment, describing the agreement as a key milestone in expanding travel options for passengers and providing more seamless connections between the two carriers’ networks.
This collaboration promises to be a game-changer for travelers seeking easy access to more destinations, reinforcing the role of Dubai and Kuala Lumpur as central hubs in global air travel.
