Sheikh Hamdan Appoints New CEOs to Strengthen Dubai’s Economic and Tourism Strategy, Effective April and October 2024
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has issued a series of decisions appointing new Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) across multiple Dubai Government entities, as part of an ongoing effort to further enhance the emirate’s economic and tourism sectors.
The appointments were made through Executive Council Decisions No. (54) to No. (60) of 2024 and cover key positions at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
Strategic Appointments Effective April 1, 2024
The following key appointments are effective from April 1, 2024:
- Issam Abdulrahim Kazim has been appointed CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, as per Decision No. (54) of 2024.
- Mohammed Abdullah Shael AlSaadi is named CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Consumer Protection and Fair Trade, under Decision No. (55) of 2024.
- Essa Harab Khalifa bin Hadher will serve as CEO of the Economic Strategy Sector at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, according to Decision No. (56) of 2024.
- Sahia Sajjad Ahmed is appointed CEO of Regulatory Policy and Governance at DET, in line with Decision No. (57) of 2024.
- Saad Mohammed Al Awadhi has been named CEO of Corporate Support Services at DET, as per Decision No. (58) of 2024.
- Khaled Hassan Mohammed Mubasheri is appointed CEO of the Legislation and Disputes Sector at DET, through Decision No. (59) of 2024.
All these decisions are effective starting April 1, 2024, and will be officially published in the Dubai Government’s Official Gazette.
Further Appointments Effective October 1, 2024
Sheikh Hamdan also issued Decision No. (60) of 2024, appointing Yousuf Ahmed Yousuf Abdullah Lootah as CEO of Strategy and Corporate Performance at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. This appointment will take effect on October 1, 2024, and will also be published in the Official Gazette.
These appointments are expected to significantly contribute to Dubai’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its economic and tourism sectors, ensuring that both industries continue to flourish in line with the emirate’s ambitious growth and development plans.
